WHAT TO DO IN BUDAPEST THIS SUMMER?

One day in the city – from brunch to all-night partying.

In Budapest for just a few days? Want to explore more than just the usual tourist spots and snapping photos? We’ve got you. Here’s your perfect one-day plan – mixing food, nature, city vibes and nightlife. Exactly how summer in Budapest should feel.

Morning: Brunch at Mazel Tov

There’s this spot in the heart of the city that feels like a mix of a Mediterranean garden, a buzzing cultural space and a full-on breakfast heaven. That’s Mazel Tov.

Located in the Jewish Quarter, it’s where people go not just to eat, but to enjoy a relaxed, Middle Eastern inspired atmosphere. Filled with greenery, sunlight streaming through the windows, live music and the smell of fresh shakshuka – it’s the kind of place that makes your whole day start better.

What’s on the menu? Smoothies, shakshuka, avo toast and plenty of other flavorful dishes. And hey, don’t be shy: grab a mimosa while you’re at it. In Budapest, no one’s judging – it’s actually encouraged.

PRO TIP: Brunch is on from Friday to Monday, 9:30 AM to 3 PM. It’s a popular spot, so showing up early is a good idea.

Midday: Explore Margaret Island

Before lunch, take it slow and head over to Margaret Island, one of the greenest, most relaxing parts of the city. Rent a bike or hop on a ‘bringóhintó’ with your friends (yes, it’s a thing and surprisingly fun). Locals love it for a reason: it’s chill, playful and absolutely story-worthy.

Prefer walking? There are tons of shady paths, gardens, fountains and even a Japanese garden waiting to be explored.

PRO TIP: Grab a lemonade or treat yourself to an ice cream while you’re there. You’ve earned it.

Lunch: Taste Budapest’s culinary side

The food scene in downtown Budapest is super diverse, but if you’re craving something classic and Hungarian, you’re in the right place. Goulash, rich stews, paprika-spiced dishes, traditional recipes… Hearty, flavorful and perfect after a ride around the island.

Check out the small restaurants nearby and taste the soul of the city – 2025 style.

Early Evening: Zsiráf Pest – pregame in a city jungle

After 6 PM, it’s time to change the game. Head to Zsiráf Pest, one of those spots that’s urban, buzzing, green, social and still chill, depending on what you’re in the mood for. You can picnic on the grass, have a drink on the terrace or ease into party mode with the evening DJ sets.

Grab a beer pong package at the bar, sip on some cocktails and don’t skip their Neapolitan pizza – it’s seriously good. And all this with a summer sunset as your backdrop? Definitely worth sticking around for.

Evening Walk: Lights, views and the city at its best

Before the party starts for real, take a short walk and catch the city glowing. Here’s the route we recommend:
Jászai Mari Square → Parliament → Danube Promenade → Chain Bridge → Basilica.

Sounds cliché? It’s not. These spots are not only romantic and super Insta-friendly, but they also show you one of Budapest’s most beautiful faces. Oh, and just a heads-up: from here, Ötkert is just a few minutes away…

Night: See you on the dancefloor – Ötkert

Final stop of the day. Time to let the night do its thing. Ötkert isn’t just another club – it’s one of the go-to places for nightlife in Budapest.

Housed in a 19th-century building, the outside gives you historic vibes, but inside it’s a full-on modern experience: two dancefloors, multiple music styles, top local DJs, world-class sound system, visual effects, bottle service, premium VIP areas, and a fresh decor every season.

And yeah, our roof? It moves. So on hot summer nights, you’re literally dancing under the stars – and if it rains, we’re back to full club mode, no problem.

On Fridays, girls get in free until midnight, and Saturdays come with discounted entry – but heads up, the line gets long, so show up early.

And that’s the day:It started with brunch, and somehow… made it to sunrise. This is your Budapest summer.Check out the spots, make the most of your time here, and above all – have a great one.
