There are nights that are simply your typical “weekend parties”… And then there are nights that turn into something more: tight-knit communities, euphoric energy, and memories that last a lifetime. Nights that end up having their own story.
The ‘My Name Is … Bréda Bia’ parties are exactly like that.
One of the most special party series from Ötkert and Bia kicked off on April 5, 2023 and since then it has continued to pulse with the same heart and intensity every single time. For Bréda Bia, this isn’t just another DJ night. It’s the realization of a dream she had been holding onto for a long time.
The concept is simple, yet special: a night where Ötkert’s R&B queen parties together with the crowd the entire time. Not just from behind the DJ booth, but with a presence that carries through the whole night.
Before the 5th My Name Is … Bréda Bia party takes over Ötkert on April 1, we caught up with Bia and asked her everything you need to know about this iconic night.

When and how did the series begin?
The first My Name Is … Bréda Bia party was on April 5, 2023. I had been planning it for a long time. Having my own night was always a big dream of mine.
What was the original idea behind it?
People often tell me at parties that I don’t stay long enough or that I don’t get enough time to play. The My Name Is … Bréda Bia series is a party where I’m with you all night long, from opening to closing. I’m not just DJing, we’re partying together.
Was there a moment when you felt like this could really become something special?
I always hoped it would, because my whole heart is in this project. When the first party started and I stepped into the booth, I felt an incredible amount of positive energy. It’s honestly impossible to put into words.
R&B, Hip Hop, Reggaeton. Why these genres?
I’ve been listening to these styles since I was a little kid. They’re basically on repeat for me 24/7. In my heart, in my head, and in my hands when I play.

What makes this party series different from a typical club night?
I arrive before the doors open so I can welcome the very first guest myself. We take photos, we toast, we dance. I party together with everyone.
There are no restrictions. Not musically, not in any way. It’s Bia and all of you, completely.
Is there a deeper message or vibe behind the whole thing?
I want to give something back for all the good things I receive. I always prepare some surprises for this night too.
What would you like people to take home with them after a night like this?
I hope I can put a smile on their faces and happiness in their hearts by making sure they have a great time.
What do you think turns a party into an actual experience?
I don’t really know the exact answer. Maybe there isn’t one. But what I do know is that when I’m playing music and being with the crowd, I completely give myself to the moment. And that makes me happy.

What kind of relationship has developed between you and your audience over the years?
I hope people feel it too, but I honestly think we’re like one big family.
Any funny or memorable moments from your parties?
There are a lot of memorable moments. The mosh pits, the sweet personal gifts I’ve received from guests. The My Name Is … Bréda Bia parties are always special because we’re there for each other.
Was there any feedback or moment that really stayed with you?
After the first party, many people who are important to me told me how proud they were of me. They said they were happy to see how many people love me and that it’s obvious how much I love them too.

How do you build a night as a DJ? Can you tell us about the exclusive Bréda Bia set?
Every crowd is different, so I don’t prepare a full set in advance for this night either. Of course there are some songs I always prepare, but only the people who come to the party will find out which ones.
Do you plan your sets carefully or work more from the crowd’s energy?
There are some planned elements, but the crowd shapes the night.
Is there a specific track or era that defines this party series?
The genres define it, but trends shape the sound.

Why does this party fit so well at Ötkert?
Ötkert is our favorite place. It’s the center of the city and also the center of our hearts. So it’s not even a question why it fits.
How much does the venue add to the atmosphere?
Ötkert has its own magic, and the My Name Is … Bréda Bia party fits it perfectly. You can’t really describe it with words, you have to experience it.
How is playing here different from other clubs?
Ötkert pulses with us. It has a special vibe that you simply can’t copy.
A 360-degree party experience. Can you tell us about that?
I really love my audience and I love partying with them. That’s why I wanted to be close to them even while I’m DJing, not just before or after my set. So we moved the DJ booth right onto the dance floor. The result was mind-blowing!!!

What does this party series mean to you personally?
This series is one of the most important projects of my career. I get to shape it from the very beginning the way I imagine it. But it’s important to say that I receive a lot of support and advice from people around me, and I’m very grateful for that.
How have you changed since it started?
I’d like to believe I haven’t changed at all. Maybe I just feel even more gratitude in my heart.
Do you have future goals for the series?
Besides Ötkert, the My Name Is … Bréda Bia parties are already happening in other cities too: Balatonlelle, Miskolc, Debrecen and Szeged. I’d love to expand that list even further.

What can people expect at the upcoming party?
I’m preparing a lot of surprises, including one that I’ve been secretly working on for a whole year. That’s when I’ll finally reveal it. There will also be a welcome drink, a shared toast, shot cakes, a photo spot, confetti rain and an extra long Bia set.
Who would you recommend this night to?
Anyone who loves R&B, hip hop and reggaeton, no matter their age.
If you had to describe the party in three words?
Euphoria.
Hot hip movements.
Energy
What’s the one feeling you most want to share from behind the DJ booth?
The same euphoria I feel the moment I start playing music.
What would you say to someone coming for the first time?
We’re waiting for you with lots of love. You won’t be disappointed!
