Meet Chriss Wolf!

We have brought you a special interview where one of your favorite resident DJs, Chriss Wolf, answered a few questions. Come and get to know him a little better!

Do you love the biggest Mainstream, House, Pop, and RnB hits? Then Ötkert’s Main Room is the place to be every Friday and Saturday night, where Chriss Wolf guarantees the hottest beats!

  1. What inspired you to become a DJ, and how did you start your career?

I’ve always loved being in the spotlight and I was practically born with music since there are many musicians in my family. I think my inspiration came from attending parties at a very young age and absolutely loving the vibe and it didn’t take long for me to realize I wanted to be a DJ.

  1. How long have you been playing at Ötkert?

I first performed at Ötkert 7 years ago, and since then, I’ve been coming regularly. But it’s really in the last 4 months that we’ve formed such a strong connection, and now I play here every week.

  1. What role does the audience’s energy play during your performance?

For me, it’s the most important thing because I always play spontaneously. I never prepare a pre-set; I decide what to do based on the energy of the party in the moment, and I always draw inspiration from the audience’s vibe.

  1. Have you ever received a gift from the audience, or do you have any particularly special memories with them?

I’ve received many gifts over the years while DJing, but the best gifts were never physical objects. I’ve played at several weddings in recent years where the couples first met at one of my parties and they promised that if they stayed together, I would be the one to create the vibe on their big day. Those are memories I always cherish.

  1. Are you superstitious? Do you have any pre-performance routines?

Not really, I’m not the nervous type. But there was a time when I would go up to the DOJO level and look down at the big dance floor. In those moments, I just felt immense gratitude, knowing that soon I’d be the one performing in the DJ booth.

  1. Do you have a favorite song? In your opinion, which song gets the Ötkert crowd going the most?

Ötkert’s favorite track right now, for me, is “Bella Ciao.” As soon as they hear it, everyone goes wild!

  1. What was the funniest or most surprising thing that ever happened to you while DJing?

It was pretty funny at Ötkert when I was playing in the Hip Hop Bistro, spinning the genre that I truly love—2000s Hip Hop and RnB. Then Dave Bautista (one of my favorite actors, a star of Guardians of the Galaxy) came up to me and said I was a really good DJ and that he loved the music I was playing. It took me about three minutes to process who had just walked up to me. 😀

  1. What was your experience like playing at Ötkert for the first time? What sets this place apart from other clubs in Budapest?

I don’t exactly remember what my first experience was like, but what I can say is that right now, Ötkert is the best club in Budapest, and I say that without any bias.

The staff is a tight-knit, cool group of valuable people and it’s the only club where they organize serious team-building activities for the employees, which really shows how much they value us.

The crowd here is perfectly balanced; you’ll find people from 18 to 40+ years old.

We have two rooms with two different music styles, so everyone can find what they want without having to go all over the city.A személyzet szerintem egy összetartó jófej csapat csupa értékes emberrel, ez az egyetlen Klub, ahol komoly csapatépitőket szerveznek a dolgozóknak, ami azért mutatja mennyire meg is becsülnek minket.

  1. What advice would you give to those who are just starting out as DJs? What are the most important skills they need to develop?

Practice, practice, and practice! Don’t take gigs you’re not ready for yet. Unfortunately, I’ve seen a lot of people get big opportunities too early, and because they weren’t skilled enough, it ended badly in the long run.

As a DJ, the most important thing is being prepared, so you can handle any situation that comes your way.

  1. What’s the most special venue you’ve played at so far, and why was it such a unique experience for you?

For several years, I was lucky enough to DJ in the VIP area at Balaton Sound on Wednesdays. I loved the fact that the whole of Budapest would travel down to another city, and we’d party together until morning. There was always something special and unforgettable about that.

Thank you, Chriss Wolf, for your answers! We hope you can already feel the magic of the Main Room. Now’s the time to dive into the atmosphere in person—see you on the dance floor, every Friday and Saturday night!
