Every Friday and Saturday night, we’re serving up the wildest parties in the heart of the city. And here’s the twist – we’re always on the grind dreaming up new themes with our resident DJ, HYPEMAN. From “We Outside” to “African Suga” to “Way 2 Sexy” – each one injecting a whole new wave of energy into the party scene, keeping you on your toes all night long.

1. Where are you from?
I am from Egypt, born in Saudi Arabia, raised in Cairo and Dubai.
2. Why did you come to Hungary?
I came to study Civil Engineering at BME University, and I’m in my last semester now.
3. How long has music been present in your life?
Music has always been a part of my life. In Egypt, you can hear music everywhere while you walk down the street, so I’ve always had a passion for music. When I was a child, I wanted to become a singer as a hobby, then I wanted to play drums and now I’m a DJ.
4. Which song/performer made you decide to become a DJ?
I was always watching DJs but the one who really impressed me and I loved to watch was JAMES HYPE. Watching him made me really want to become a DJ and I feel like we have something in common which is the HYPE.
5. Who are your favorite performers? If you could only listen to one artist for the rest of your life, who would it be and why? What’s your current favorite song?
My favorite artists are DRAKE, FUTURE, LIL BABY, TRAVIS SCOTT, 21 Savage, THE WEEKND, KANYE WEST, J COLE, and BURNA BOY. If I could listen to only one artist it would be Drake because I like that he has many songs with different genres and vibes. Also he is my all-time favorite artist and I really want to work with him one day. My current favorite song is called “Sneaky” by 21 Savage.
6. What funny stories do you have with our guests at Ötkert? Which one is the funniest?
All the funny stories happen with drunk guests to be honest. There was one drunk guy who came to me shouting “YOU ARE THE BEST DJ!” and he was just spraying money on me. That was crazy! The coolest thing a fan did was when a guy came to me and wanted to give me his necklace as a gift and I think it had diamonds on it.
7. What motivates you?
What motivates me every day is that I want to do something great and with that I want to make people’s life better. My family is my main motivation and I want to make them proud of me one day.
8. Why HipHop?
I listen to a lot of HIPHOP daily but I love to play many things like Afrobeats, Amapiano and AfroHouse depending on the vibe of the party. But of course HIPHOP has always been my favorite.
9. Why do you enjoy playing music at Ötkert?
I love the energy I get from the crowd, my colleagues, managers, the whole team is amazing so it’s just GOOD VIBES ONLY.
10. How do you see, what are the most popular songs of the nights?
The most popular songs are FE!N, CARNIVAL, MNIKE, JUST WANNA ROCK, SHIK SHAK SHOK, haha.
11. What’s the most unexpected song request you’ve ever received, and did you play it?
The most unexpected requests are always Arabic songs and I always love to play them like a song called “Dag al mani.” It was a vibe.
12. What’s your secret weapon for getting the crowd hyped up when they’re feeling low energy?
If I am 100% comfortable and happy I will pass my energy and my Hype to everyone. Playing as a DJ is a hobby for me and I love it so the crowd always sees that I am enjoying what I am doing. That’s why they call me DJ HYPEMAN.
13. Weirdest dance move you’ve ever seen someone bust out in the middle of a song – spill the beans! 🙂
There are many dancers who come to my parties and everyone is unique in their own style. I don’t consider any of them weird but I love to see them having fun and doing the Lil Uzi Vert Dance, JUST WANNA ROCKKK TA TA TA.
